For logos and design:  I need a vectored file type such as:  .EPS, .PDF, .SVG

For bitmaps/photos: I need high resolution or stock images as PNGs, .JPGs etc. A min of 300dpi (dots per inch)

Do not send: Screenshots, downloaded images from Whatsapp or Facebook, Google images with watermarks, free Canva exports

What is....
a vector?

A vector image uses maths to create the picture, allowing it to resize without losing quality. Perfect for logos. If you're unsure whether your logo is a vector, first check it’s in one of the file types above. Then try zooming in; if it stays crisp and clear, it's likely a vector, but if it gets blurry, it might be a bitmap.

What is....
a bitmap?

For the best results, you need high resolution images. I can only print to the quality you send.  To check this, examine its file size; a larger file size, measured in MB or GB, generally indicates higher resolution and better print quality. Using images from a stock website (see here for an example) is one way to achieve this.

When it comes to photos, many phone cameras can keep up nowadays. Just be sure to send the photo unedited, uncompressed and NOT downloaded/sent from Whatsapp or Social Media.

HOW TO SEND YOUR FILES
so we can work with them

Artwork files need to be sized using the templates available on the product pages or sent in the correct dimensions for the item you are ordering. Proportion matters too! For example, artwork that is in a square proportion won't work for a banner that's a rectangle!

In some cases, there needs to be "bleed" on the artwork. This allows for a small margin of extra image area around your design to ensure that no blank edges appear when we trim the final product. Think of it as a safety net for your artwork! We typically recommend adding an extra 5mm of bleed on each side.

A few more tips:

File Format: Save your artwork as a PDF, SVG, or high-resolution PNG to ensure the best quality.

Resolution: Aim for a resolution of at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) to keep your images crisp and clear.

Text: If your design includes text, make sure it’s at least 5mm away from the edge to avoid the text being chopped off! For banners, remember that eyelets are included and so any text on the edge is at risk.

Has your logo been designed by a professional or company?

Great! Ask for the original or vectored artwork—they know the drill.

Canva and similar logo creation tools:

Tools like Canva are handy, and great for online images and your socials. But they can be a printer’s nightmare. Exporting logos in the right format requires purchasing a premium package, and even then it might not provide a true vector. I am happy to work with you where I can but please be aware there may be extra design fees if your artwork doesn’t behave as it should. I will always let you know upfront.
